  • The north FinistĂšre coast is more exposed, with big tides and cooler days than the south coast.
  • Outside July and August, the kids’ club and some services run reduced hours.

Ferry tip: The easiest parc for the Friday 08:30 daytime sailing: you dock at 15:00 and can check in soon after 16:00. Off an overnight ferry at 08:00, spend the morning in Roscoff or on Île de Batz first.

Eurocamp in South FinistĂšre: 1œ to 2 Hours From Roscoff

  • The beach is about 1km away, so not quite on the doorstep.

  • The outdoor pool only opens from mid-June.
  • The supermarket is about a 10-minute drive away, though the on-site shop and Sainte-Marine cover the basics.

Good to know

  • Most activities cost extra and book up in peak weeks.
  • One recent guest found the treetop course out of action, so check before you go if it matters to you.

  • It’s quieter than the big 5-stars, with less evening entertainment.
  • The beach is roughly 1km away, a short walk or bike ride.

Ferry tip: It’s the same drive from Roscoff as Ty Nadan, so the two are an easy comparison: Pommeraie for the coast and a quieter stay, Ty Nadan for activities.

Crossing the Odet

Le Port de Plaisance and Le Helles sit on opposite banks of the River Odet. A small passenger ferry links Sainte-Marine with BĂ©nodet in summer, so whichever you choose, you can try the other side’s beaches and restaurants without the drive round.

Eurocamp Carnac and the Gulf of Morbihan: Under 3 Hours From Roscoff

This area has the biggest cluster of Eurocamp parcs in Brittany, with sheltered beaches, the Carnac standing stones and boat trips around the Gulf of Morbihan. From Roscoff it’s around 2 hours 45 minutes to Carnac, about 15 minutes longer than from St Malo, but crossing from Plymouth saves families in the South West the drive to Portsmouth.

What do people say about Eurocamp in Carnac? Reviews of the Carnac parcs keep coming back to the same points: the pool complexes and slides are the highlight for children, Carnac’s long, gently shelving beaches suit young families, and the standing stones and land train make easy days out. The common complaints are crowds in August, small pools at the beach-side parcs and some tired mobile homes, so choose a newer accommodation grade if you can.

Planning Your Eurocamp Brittany Holiday From Plymouth

North Brittany, south Brittany or the Vendée?

Be realistic about the weather. Brittany is often compared to Cornwall: mild, with plenty of sunny days, but not reliably hot, even in August. The south coast around BĂ©nodet, Carnac and the Gulf of Morbihan tends to be a little warmer and sunnier than the north, with more sheltered beaches, which is why most parcs are there. The VendĂ©e, further south, is usually sunnier still, but it’s a much longer drive from Roscoff. If you’re sailing from Plymouth, south FinistĂšre and Carnac are the sweet spot, and a parc with an indoor pool is good insurance.

Booking the ferry: with Eurocamp or separately?

You can add a ferry crossing when you book with Eurocamp, or book the parc and the crossing separately. Parents on Mumsnet point out that Eurocamp’s ferry discounts only apply when you book through Eurocamp, so price the package first, then compare it with the parc on its own plus a Brittany Ferries fare. Booking separately gives you the full choice of Plymouth sailings and cabins. Plymouth to Roscoff fares start from around £117 one way for a car and two passengers, and on overnight sailings you also need a cabin (from around £57) or a reserved seat (£10). See our ferry prices guide.

Eurocamp prices

Eurocamp is advertising 2027 holidays with a ÂŁ99 deposit and savings of up to 20%. Prices vary hugely by week, so compare June and early September with the school holidays.

🏠

Choosing accommodation

Comfort is Eurocamp’s most popular range of mobile homes, and Ultimate is its largest. Newer, higher grades avoid most of the “tired mobile home” complaints you’ll see in reviews.

📅

When to go

The Plymouth to Roscoff ferry runs from 21 March to 7 November 2027, with 7 sailings a week from 24 July to 29 August. Outside July and August, check which pools, kids’ clubs and restaurants will be open.

Timing Your Eurocamp Holiday Around the Roscoff Ferry

Sailing times from the Brittany Ferries 2027 timetable (21 March to 7 November 2027; 7 sailings a week from 24 July to 29 August). Eurocamp check-in and departure times vary by parc, so check your booking. Check-in at the port closes 45 minutes before departure, or 90 minutes with a pet.

đŸ„

Fill the first morning

Have breakfast in Roscoff’s old port, visit Saint-Pol-de-LĂ©on’s cathedral, or break the drive in Quimper, Locronan or Pont-Aven.

đŸ›ïž

Book a cabin

A cabin or reserved seat is compulsory on overnight sailings, and a cabin means the children arrive rested for the drive.

🛒

Shop on the way

Stop at a big supermarket near the parc before check-in, as on-site shops are small and pricier.

🐕

Taking the dog?

Many parcs accept one dog in selected accommodation, but check with Eurocamp before you book, and arrive at the port 90 minutes before sailing.

Is Brittany good for a first Eurocamp holiday?

Yes. It’s the closest Eurocamp region to the South West, with an overnight crossing from Plymouth, short drives, familiar weather and plenty of parcs with indoor pools in case it rains.
