The Armorique runs the majority of sailings and was purpose-built for this route. The Pont-Aven — Brittany Ferries’ flagship — makes one round trip a week in 2027 — Thursday evening from Plymouth (overnight) and Sunday morning from Roscoff (daytime). Your booking confirmation states which ship you’re on. The two ships differ significantly in what they offer.

Wide choice of dishes from around the world plus French favourites. The minute steaks cooked to order are a firm favourite. Salad buffet, desserts, wines and beers. Light, spacious dining area with panoramic views. The children’s soft play area is within this area — ideal for families. Note: self-service only — there is no à la carte restaurant on the Armorique.

Sandwiches, cakes, pastries, hot and cold drinks. Relaxed atmosphere with flat-screen TVs. Located next to the reserved seating lounge on deck 6 — a good spot to settle in for the crossing without committing to a full meal.
Le Bar
Main bar · Deck 7 · Adjacent to restaurant
French wines, cocktails, hot and cold drinks. Open plan feel with a quiet zone. Light and airy with terrific sea views. Flat-screen TVs showing sports and news. Live entertainment in the bar on most crossings — quizzes, singers, and children’s activities during school holidays.

🎵 Live entertainment: Entertainment is adapted for every crossing — quizzes, games, vocal sets from the ship’s singers, and children’s activities during school holidays. Collect your sailing entertainment programme from the Information Desk or check the display board at the main bar. The Ferrynauts app (ages 7–13) lets children hunt for 15 hidden stickers around the ship in augmented reality — download before you travel.

Outdoor exercise area — dogs must be muzzled and on a lead at all times outside the cabin. Crew explain the transfer between vehicle and cabin when you board.

Pont-Aven’s elegant à la carte restaurant situated at the aft of the ship — watch the sea slide by and observe the chefs in the open kitchen. Seasonal menus using regional produce. Superb choice of French wines. Open for breakfast and dinner. The centrepiece of a Pont-Aven crossing for many passengers.

Sandwiches, cakes, pastries, pizzas plus hot and cold drinks. Large adjoining seating area with flat-screen TVs. The children’s soft play area is situated close by — a good option for families who want a relaxed meal without going to the full restaurant.
Special rates for children’s meals across all restaurants. Payment in Euros or Sterling, cash or card, combinable. Vending machines also available. Restaurant opening times vary — check on board.

Le Grand Pavois

The heart of the Pont-Aven. Cocktails, beers, wines, hot drinks and snacks. Seating across two decks joined by a large sweeping staircase — it genuinely feels like a cruise ship bar. Flat-screen TVs for sports and news. The main venue for live entertainment: magicians, singers, bands, quizzes and headline tribute acts on selected summer sailings. Mezzanine lounge level with comfortable sofas and armchairs.
Le Fastnet
Piano bar · Deck 7 · Adjacent to Le Flora
Stylish cocktail bar with a relaxed atmosphere enhanced by a live pianist. The perfect spot for an aperitif before dinner in Le Flora or a digestif afterwards. One of Pont-Aven’s most distinctive features.
Les Finistères
Pool bar · Deck 9 · Open May to September
Outdoor poolside bar serving wines, beers and soft drinks. Open during the summer season alongside the heated pool and leisure area. One of the highlights of a daytime Pont-Aven crossing in good weather — on this route, the Sunday sailing from Roscoff.
Commodore Lounge

Private lounge exclusively for Commodore and De Luxe cabin passengers. Includes access to two side patio areas.
Reserved Seating Lounge
Deck 9 · 47 reclining seats
Reserved lounge seating for passengers without a cabin. Seat numbers 9001–9047. Must be booked in advance as part of your ticket. Note: on a crossing of 8+ hours overnight, a cabin is significantly more comfortable.

Heated pool with large whirlpool, sunbathing and leisure area. Open daytime sailings only — not available on overnight crossings. On Plymouth–Roscoff in 2027 that means the Sunday 09:45 sailing from Roscoff. Children must be supervised; no lifeguard on duty. Ask at the Information Desk for opening times. The poolside bar (Les Finistères) serves drinks alongside.

Latest video games and air hockey table. Positioned near the pool area on deck 9 — teenagers can move between both.
👶 Children’s Area
Deck 7 · Near Le Café du Festival
Play area for toddlers and younger children. Supervised by an adult at all times. Situated near the café so parents can eat while children play. Entertainment programme during peak season.
🌊 Promenade Deck
Deck 6 · Full circuit of the ship
The Promenade on deck 6 lets you walk all the way around the ship. The top deck offers a further calm spot to enjoy the sea air and views, particularly when entering or leaving port.
🎵 Live entertainment: Pont-Aven has the most varied entertainment of the two ships. Le Grand Pavois hosts live bands, cabaret singers, magicians, tribute acts and DJs. Headline tribute artists perform on selected summer sailings. Pierre le Bear appears during school holidays. Ferrynauts augmented reality app for children aged 7–13. Spa Treatment is only available on the sailings from Plymouth to Santander. Spa treatment is not available on cross channel sailings to France.

Shop may open for browsing and non-alcohol/tobacco goods closer to the UK port, but alcohol and tobacco cannot be sold within 20 minutes of the UK port.
Purchase of alcoholic beverages is prohibited to persons under 18.

Is there a restaurant on the Plymouth to Roscoff ferry?
Yes on both ships, but they differ. The Armorique has a self-service restaurant (Le Restaurant, deck 7) and Le Café (deck 6) — there is no à la carte option. The Pont-Aven has an à la carte restaurant (Le Flora, deck 7), a self-service restaurant (La Belle Angèle, deck 7), a café (Le Café du Festival, deck 7), and a piano bar (Le Fastnet, deck 7). If a sit-down à la carte meal matters to you, you need the Pont-Aven.
Does the Plymouth to Roscoff ferry have a cinema?

Does the Plymouth to Roscoff ferry have a swimming pool?
The Pont-Aven has a heated pool on deck 9 with a large whirlpool, sunbathing and leisure area, and the poolside bar Les Finistères. It is open during daytime sailings only, and is seasonal — typically May to September. On Plymouth–Roscoff in 2027, the Pont-Aven’s only daytime sailing is the Sunday 09:45 from Roscoff. Children must be supervised and there is no lifeguard. The Armorique does not have a swimming pool.
Is Wi-Fi free on the Plymouth to Roscoff ferry?
Armorique: 1 hour free (Surf Free), then paid packages from €3.50. Unlimited Surf One Way is €15.00 (not suited to video streaming). Which ship is better — Armorique or Pont-Aven?
They suit different travellers. The Armorique is purpose-built for this route, practical, clean and family-friendly — it operates the majority of sailings and is an excellent crossing. The Pont-Aven is significantly larger and more cruise-like, with a heated pool, à la carte restaurant (Le Flora), piano bar (Le Fastnet), and more varied entertainment. If you specifically want the pool, à la carte dining or a more premium experience, check that your sailing uses the Pont-Aven before booking — in 2027 it sails Thursday evenings from Plymouth and Sunday mornings from Roscoff.
Can I buy duty free on the Plymouth to Roscoff ferry?
Yes — both ships have duty-free boutiques. Armorique: Les Boutiques, deck 6. Pont-Aven: La Boutique, deck 8. Spirits and tobacco are sold at French prices and cannot be purchased within UK territorial waters. Buy a case of wine and it can be delivered to your car at disembarkation. Payment in Euros or Sterling, cash or card.
What plug sockets are available on both ships?
Both ships have continental 2-pin sockets (220v) in cabins plus a 110v shaving socket. UK passengers need a travel adaptor. Adaptors are sold in the boutiques but stock is limited — bring your own. Keep your cabin keycard away from your mobile phone or smartphone to prevent demagnetisation.
